Glorifying God through Word, Worship & Service.
At St. James Parish, we offer a 2 semester Sacramental Preparation Program for Confirmation Candidates in 9th grade and 10th grade. This is a Family Based program in which one parent, guardian, or sponsor is required to attend sessions with their high schooler.
Ninth grade students will begin their Confirmation preparation in January (spring semester) of their 9th grade year and continue through November (fall semester) of the 10th grade year. The sacrament of Confirmation will take place after the 2 semesters of preparation in mid-to-late November of their 10th grade year.
Confirmation classes take place from 8:00AM- 9:00AM in Tobin Hall basement. Students and parents attend Mass together at 9:00AM, then resume classroom time from 10:00AM- 11:00AM.
Confirmation does not mean you have graduated from faith formation! In order to be lifelong learners of the faith, we encourage all confirmed parish members to participate in church ministries by volunteering to become an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, a Lector, or a Catechist. Please contact the parish office for how you can participate after you have received the sacrament of Confirmation.
